Art Psychotherapy for young people
(Ages 12-17)
Service Description
Adolescence can be a time of intense change, uncertainty, and emotional pressure. Young people don't always have the words to express what they are feeling - and this is where Art Psychotherapy can offer a powerful and supportive alternative. Art Psychotherapy provides a safe, confidential space where young people can explore their thoughts and emotions through creative expression, alongside gentle therapeutic conversation. No artistic experience is needed, the focus is on expression, not outcome. I work in a calm, compassionate and trauma informed way, supporting young people to feel heard, understood, and accepted at their own pace. Art Therapy can support young people who are experiencing: - Anxiety, overwhelm or school related stress - Low mood or depression - Low self-esteem or confidence - Difficulties with friendships or relationships - Emotional regulation challenges - Family changes or transitions - Trauma or difficult past experiences - Feeling stuck, misunderstood or unable to express themselves Working with parents or carers. An Initial consultation is offered to parents or carers to understand your concerns and answer any questions. Ongoing work is centred on the young person, with confidentiality respected, while maintaining appropriate communication with parents when needed.
